#2 – Link Between Climate Change and Affordability”
Climate Crisis + Trump Tariffs = Soaring Costs 💸🔥🇺🇸
Hydro, food, insurance, healthcare—everything’s getting more expensive. Now Trump’s new tariffs add even more pressure on Canadians.
It’s all tied to climate change and fossil fuel dependence.

#3 – US threat of annexation
Trump’s Trade War Is Heating Up—And So Is the Planet
As Trump launches new tariffs and reignites a trade war, Canada faces growing threats from annexation to climate chaos. Wildfires, floods, and droughts are all tied to our dependence on oil and gas.
We can’t control Trump, but we can control our emissions. Clean energy is cheaper and ready now. We just need leaders with the courage to act.

#5 – Big Oil Profits, But We’re Paying the Price
Oil and gas companies raked in $63 billion last year while wildfires, floods, and extreme weather devastate our communities.
Carbon pricing is one of the most effective and fair ways to cut emissions and it doesn’t raise household costs. It’s time to hold big polluters accountable.
Trump’s tariffs may be beyond our control, but our climate future isn’t.

#6 – No One Want Canada’s Oil Soon
Global demand for oil is set to peak within 10 years, and even oil executives admit production will start declining in just 3–5. Meanwhile, renewables are booming and outpacing fossil fuel investment 10 to 1.
If Canada keeps betting on pipelines and tar sands, we risk being left with stranded assets and a crumbling economy. We need to diversify now and to invest in clean energy and innovation.

#7 – “To the naysayers who say the world is doomed and there’s no point in taking action, I say, ‘Get out of the way for those of us who are crazy enough to think we’re going to be able to do it!” Alex Neufeldt, one of the youth plaintiffs in the Ontario Mathur et al case.
A vote for climate is a vote for the next generation!

#8 GASP joined forces with For Our Grandchildren in Ottawa to call on Parliament to protect our future and take bold action on climate change.
As the U.S. rolls back progress, we must push Canada to go further and faster toward a 100% carbon-neutral future. This is about intergenerational action—standing together for a livable planet.
Speaker Guy Hanchet is founder of For Our Grandchildren in Peterborough. Like GASPs he is driven by a deep commitment to protect the planet for future generations.

#9 – This video is a compelling and peaceful grandmother message given by one of our own, the authentic Victoria Creese.
“We Need a Clean Energy Grid Across Canada”
A nationwide clean energy grid will power our country sustainably and will protect the future for Victoria’s her three grandchildren and all the grandchildren in Canada.
As wildfires destroy communities like Lytton and Jasper, the need for bold climate action has never been clearer.

#10 “The Climate Crisis Is Now”
At a powerful protest in Ottawa, GASP members and many older Canadians spoke out about the urgent need for climate action. From uninsurable homes and extreme heat to failing economies and health risks, the climate crisis touches every part of our lives. A small tax break won’t matter if our planet becomes unliveable.
Speaker Joan Kuyek is the founding National Co-Ordinator of MiningWatch Canada, now active with SCAN Ottawa (Seniors for Climate Action Now).

#11 – Oil Price Hikes Cost Canadian families $12K more per year
Between 2022 and 2024, Canadian families paid a staggering $12,000 more per year, not because of oil shortages, but because of financial market speculation on oil futures. This single price spike triggered massive inflation, hitting us all with higher gas bills, rising grocery costs, lost wages, and soaring interest rates. We know the solution. Break free from oil and gas by accelerating the shift to clean energy like wind and solar.
